AVECampus

Built to protect student records

Student data is sensitive, and schools are trusted with it. Here is what AVECampus does to keep it safe, in plain language.

Every school's records stay separate

Each record belongs to exactly one school, and the database refuses to link it to another school's records. This protection is enforced where the data lives, so it holds no matter which screen or tool is used.

Two-step verification

Sign in with your password and a code from an authenticator app. It is required for every user on paid plans and optional on the Free plan.

Role-based access

Owners, admins, staff and instructors each see only what their job needs. Instructors can read student records and take attendance but cannot see payments, balances or restricted ID digits.

Restricted ID details

AVECampus stores only the last 4 digits of a Social Security number, in a separate area that instructors cannot read. Those digits are left out of the change history. The full number is never stored.

A record of every change

Changes to students, guardians, enrollments, attendance, payments and team membership are logged with who made them and when.

Payments without stored secrets

Online payments run through your own Stripe account. AVECampus keeps only your account identifier, never a Stripe key or card number. Payment amounts cannot be edited after they are recorded.

Archived, not erased

Students are archived instead of deleted, so enrollment and payment history survive. Plan limits never delete data.

AVECampus is built with FERPA in mind, but using it does not by itself make a school compliant. Each school remains responsible for its own policies, agreements and legal obligations.

Security questions

How is student data protected?

Each school's records are kept separate by the database itself, so one school cannot see another's. Two-step verification is required on paid plans, files are private, and every change to records is logged with who made it. AVECampus is built with FERPA in mind, but it does not replace your own compliance responsibilities.

Do you store Social Security numbers?

Only the last 4 digits, and only when you choose to add them. They are kept in a restricted area that instructors cannot read, and the digits are left out of the change history. The full number is never stored.

Can instructors see payments?

No. Instructors can see student records and take attendance, but they cannot see payments, balances or restricted ID details.
